MyDefence, a Danish-based provider of Counter-Uncrewed Aerial Systems (C-UAS) to Allied Armed Forces, today announced the establishment of its UK branch.
The establishment provides the UK with direct access to MyDefence’s technological resources and operational expertise, drawn from deployments amongst defence forces in Ukraine, the United States, Australia and other allied armed forces globally. MyDefence delivers modular, portable and vehicle-mounted C-UAS solutions that detect, track, and defeat hostile drones in contested environments.
The investment in the British market reinforces UK–EU alignment through trusted and advanced European technology and deepens cooperation with Nordic defence programmes. Combined with fully NATO-interoperable systems, these pillars enable MyDefence to deliver immediate battle-proven capability to British Armed Forces, whilst supporting the priorities of the UK Government’s Strategic Defence Review.
“Our technology has been tested in real combat conditions to protect frontline troops, critical infrastructure, and coalition forces,” said Dan D. S. Hermansen, CEO of MyDefence. “The UK remains a key NATO partner, and our presence here ensures we can deliver battle-proven, field-ready capabilities rapidly to meet evolving drone threats.”
To lead the UK programme and customer engagement, MyDefence has appointed former British Army officer, Liam Hutcheson, whose operational and procurement experience spans urgent capability acquisition supporting the war in Ukraine, to most recently advising on the Defence Supply Chain Capability Programme.
“Drones have transformed modern conflict, and the requirement for the UK to strengthen its C-UAS capability is clear.” Liam adds. “It is a really exciting time for UK MOD; the momentum from the Strategic Defence Review and the anticipation of the Defence Investment Plan means the timing is perfect for MyDefence to enter the UK market. MyDefence has demonstrated that it can field proven systems at speed on NATO operations - a capability I am enormously proud to bring to the UK.”
Sir Chris Tickell, Lieutenant General (Retired), British Army, and Member of the Board of Directors at MyDefence Group A/S, added:
“The proliferation of uncrewed systems poses a strategic challenge to all NATO forces. MyDefence brings a battle-proven, interoperable solution set that strengthens our collective defence posture. By establishing a UK presence, we are not only reinforcing our commitment to British industry and defence, but ensuring that our Armed Forces have immediate access to the tools they need to counter the threats of today and tomorrow.”
MyDefence’s global expansion and innovation is supported by existing investment partner Bridgepoint, which became the company’s majority shareholder in 2024.
